We are officially 6 days into 2020. And I know we all have dreams, visions, and goals in life that we want to achieve. However many times we sit on those goals and dreams not making the next move. We make excuses for not executing our goals, even though its something we really want to achieve. The fix to our dilemma...break that 'Big Goal' into smaller steps. When we set out ambitious goals (which I encourage!), we’re just looking at the complete big picture that is so large, that we become intimidated or discouraged. So we never take action.  That is why it is important to create actions steps towards your goals to make it easier to walk in your path. You don’t have to jump head first into it, which can lead to burn out, you can simply take baby steps. Because baby steps are better than no steps at all.

Take Action Daily

Take your three key goals. Then align your daily action to them. Write out three strategies that you will use to achieve those goals. Each week, write out and schedule the activities you will do to move forward those goals. When you start to prioritize your activities that will get you closer to your goal, you will achieve them with ease and confidence.

Start Small

There’s nothing wrong with dreaming BIG! Dreaming big is important, but the reality is, dreaming big and setting large goals with no action plan can feel very overwhelming. So to avoid this, simply break your goal into smaller pieces to create the big picture. Plot out small attainable goals that can be reached in 30-90 days that will help you get to the overall goal. Because when you break a large goal into manageable pieces, you keep the momentum to stay focus and accomplish more.

Set Realistic Goals

Want to know one of the biggest mistakes we make when it comes to setting goals and not achieving them, is setting unrealistic goals. For example: Someone can just start a business and say for there monthly revenue goal they would like to make $100K/month. With no action plan on how they are going to do that. The question is okay you want to make $100K/month? Cool! Now how are you going to do that? What are some of the things you can do consistently that will garner you those results? Breakdown!

Write It Down

I believe when you are given a vision that you decided to truly pursue and you write it down, that shit gets real. Studies show that writing down your goals, dreams, and aspirations increases the chances of you making it happen. So grab a pen and paper if you haven’t done so and get to holding yourself accountable for how you’re moving towards your future in 2020. To ensure your goals are attainable and measurable, set realistic expectations, and create a clear game plan.

Start With The End In Mind

Now take a deep breath, relax and think about the end of this year. Imagine a friend asking about your success. Write down in present tense how you would describe your end of the year success and write how you got there.

I hope these tips help you stay on track! Now make it happen!
